November ISSA Meeting

The next meeting is on Tuesday November 3rd. We will have 2 presenters for our lunch meetings. Registration is at 10:30 am and meeting starts at 11:00 am.

The first presenter, Amy Baker, Vice President of Marketing at Wombat Security Technologies, will present ‘Hurdling Security Education Obstacles to Achieve Success’. Amy has been in the information technology and security industry for more than ten years and has been specifically focused on info security awareness and training for the last few years. Amy led the development of Wombat’s Best Practices Methodology for Security Education programs and along with her team drives the enhancement of their security education software. She has presented at ISSA, ISACA, Cyber Security Summit, SecureWorld, SecurityCurrent, and CISO Executive Network events and webinars.

Amy has been in the information technology and security industry for more than ten years and has been specifically focused on info security awareness and training for the last few years. We’ll take a break around noon to grab some lunch then Doug Salah, Manager of Information Security & Networking at Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corporation (Wabtec), will present ‘Evaluating and Tracking your Security Program using an Information Security Maturity Model’. The presentation is intended to be a discussion starter for the group to discuss ways to evaluate and track a security program.

Doug has worked at Wabtec since 1998 and has held an Information Security role since 2004.  In his current role he is responsible for managing all aspects of Wabtec’s information security and networking infrastructure globally from architecture to administration.  He manages a global team of security and network professionals.  His numerous years in IT, CISSP and CISM certifications has helped him develop a successful security program at Wabtec.  Wabtec, founded in 1869 by George Westinghouse, has had dramatic growth during his 17 years.

After the second presenter there will be a drawing for $50 AMEX gift card. The winner must be present to claim the prize or we will redraw.

There will be 2 CPE given to attendees of the lunch meetings.

Registration will begin at 10:30 am, first presentation starts at 11:00 am.

Meeting location: The Gulf Tower; Gulf Theater. 707 Grant Street on the 3rd floor.

Cost: $10 for members of AITP, ARMA, InfraGard, ISACA, ISC2, ISSA, OWASP, Steel City InfoSec and TRCPA with advance registration $15 for non-members with advance registration $5 for students with advance registration
